THE FLOATS WIN CALN'S BATTLE OF THE BANDS

The band consists of two brothers, and a cousin. The Floats started when a good friend and lead guitarist from Attractive Nuisance got Matt and Chris playing together in his basement studio - Green Day's Brain Stew was their first song together. This was the spark that got them moving toward their musical endeavors. Their cousin Sean joined shortly thereafter as the bass player for the band. At that point, they had started playing Nivana’s In Bloom and covering other rock bands such as AC/DC. All of the boys take lessons at Moretti’s Music in Downingtown, PA and they have also participate in Lisa Wolfe’s Build a Band program in Fraser, PA. They have progressed well beyond their early “Brain Stew” days and now cover songs such as the Foo Fighters’ Rope and The Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Dani California.

They have played at many venues including Honeybrook Golf Course’s Friday Night Music events, East Brandywine's Good Neighbor Day, the Downingtown Arts Festival, and many others. The Floats are interested in playing other events – big and small – so please use the Contact Us page if you are interested in hiring them for your event.
